PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

You shower blessings upon your Church, O Gracious One, and you call us to share in your generous work of reconciliation: Help us give generously and forgive willingly as instruments of your abundant love for all people.

            Make us willing instruments
Of your abundant love for all people.

Holy One, teach us to follow your path of nonviolence and to resist evildoers with mercy, that all nations may refrain from anger, leave rage alone, and delight in the abundance of peace .

           Make us willing instruments
Of your abundant love for all people.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
AND RECONCILIATION
Brief silent consideration of how we have responded to our personal and congregational opportunities to do good, as we face ourselves honestly in the presence of the Almighty.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE
May Almighty God have mercy on us
to bless our good works
and forgive us our sins,
and lead us into everlasting life.

PASTORAL PRAYER

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever. Amen.

THE GOSPEL READING
Links to multiple translations:
Isaiah 51:1-6

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

HYMN OF CELEBRATION
“Let Me Walk”

Let me walk through Paradise with You, Lord
Take my hand and lead me there.
All my earthly treasure I will gladly give
Teach me how to love and how to share.
Greed and lust and vanity were mine, Lord,
Then I found Your Love divine.
Now on my knees, I pray I find the way.
Let me walk through Paradise with You

Chorus
Oh, my Lord, my Savior,
Guide my feet along the lonely road.
Faith, hope, and love will light the way before me
As I walk to Paradise with you.
(Repeat chorus and then verse)

Chorus
Oh, my Lord, my Savior,
Guide my feet along the lonely road.
Faith, hope, and love will light the way before me
As I walk to Paradise with you.

INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP
The Altar in our hearts is always open

HYMN OF DEDICATION

“Together We Serve”

Together we serve united by love
Inviting God’s world to the glorious feast
We work and we pray through sorrow and joy
Extending Your love to the last and the least

We seek to become a beacon of hope
A lamp for the heart and a light for the feet
We learn year by year to let love shine through
Until we see Christ in each person we meet

We welcome the scarred the wealthy the poor
The busy the lonely and all who need care
We offer a home to those who will come
Our hands quick to help our hearts ready to dare

Together by grace we witness and work
Remembering Jesus in whom we grow strong
Together we serve in Spirit and truth
Remembering love is the strength of our song
