PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Holy One, you have called your Church in the power of the Spirit and filled us with your divine love: Grant us your gifts, that, rejoicing in the truth, we may bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, endure all things, for the sake of Jesus Christ.
You are our hope, O God;
our praise shall be always of you.
You have called us to be a community of love: Let our kindness reach out beyond our boundaries to embrace the entire world which you bless through Christ’s Spirit of compassion.
You are our hope, O God;
our praise shall be always of you.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
AND RECONCILIATION
Brief silent consideration of how we have responded to our personal and congregational opportunities to do good, as we face ourselves honestly in the presence of the Almighty.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE
May Almighty God have mercy on us
to bless our good works
and forgive us our sins,
and lead us into everlasting life.
PASTORAL PRAYER
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever. Amen.

THE GOSPEL READING
Links to multiple translations:
Isaiah 56:1, 6-8
1 Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
8 The Lord God, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
